I thought I’d try something different with these. They weren’t really working in colour, but I think the black and white (greyscale for all you pedants out there) is giving them a new lease on life.
The Rainbow Bridge is a two-level bridge that crosses over from mainland Tokyo to the artificial islands in the Bay of Tokyo that make up Odaiba. The top level is dedicated to road traffic while the lower level carries foot traffic and the automated train that I rode to gain access to and move throughout the islands.
These sheds have been built in under a railway bridge on the train line between Ochanomizu Station and Kanda Station in Tokyo. This has been taken looking towards Kanda station.
I made some changes to this one thanks to the input of a member on OCAU. Thanks for the feedback! Version 2 is below.
…and here’s version three, having dropped the artificial vignette entirely! Much happier with it.
This is one of a number of photos that I took on my walk from the Tokyo Prefectural Government Building to the gate of Shinjuku Gyoen park. The park is over the fence to the far left of the frame and the building on the right was, I hope, abandoned and being reclaimed by nature. Unfortunately I suspect that people may have been using it for shelter, as there were empty bottles and other recent refuse on the stairs at the back, just visible in the full-size version. This area was a shocking contrast to the rest of Tokyo and it was one of the first things that I found really confronting in my trip.
